Woodland Park Man Arrested After Alleged Attempted Vehicle Burglary in Fairfield

A Woodland Park man has been arrested following an alleged attempted motor vehicle burglary at a Fairfield business earlier this year.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, officers were called on January 26, 2026, around 10:43 a.m. to American Showcase on Commerce Road after company representatives reported that a suspect was seen on surveillance cameras allegedly attempting to enter a company work truck.

Police say the business was closed at the time and no employees were present.

Responding officers were provided with a description of the suspect. Officer Jesse Schnackenberg was the first to arrive and allegedly observed an individual matching the description running toward Stewart Place. Police say the suspect then entered a red 2014 Nissan Altima and attempted to leave the area.

Officers, including Officer Raymond Puluse, stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Muhanid Musa, 26, of Woodland Park, whose description allegedly matched that of the suspect.

Following further investigation, Musa was arrested and charged with attempted motor vehicle burglary. His vehicle was impounded for additional investigation.

Musa was later released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on September 8, 2026.

All charges are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
