TORNADO WATCH ISSUED FOR PARTS OF NEW JERSEY & SURROUNDING STATES

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for portions of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C. through 10:00 PM EDT.

Residents should remain weather aware as conditions could become favorable for severe storms capable of producing:

• Tornadoes
• Damaging wind gusts
• Severe thunderstorms
• Dangerous lightning
• Heavy rainfall & possible flooding

Officials urge everyone to:

• Monitor weather alerts
• Have a safe shelter location ready
• Keep phones charged
• Avoid unnecessary travel during severe storms
