According to the Florence Township Police Department, officers responded around 8:15 p.m. on July 26 to the 20 block of Amboy Avenue for reports of a physical altercation in progress.
Police say the incident began after several individuals were reportedly found leaning against a resident’s parked vehicle, leading to a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical fight between two groups.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a crowd of approximately 20 to 30 adults and juveniles gathered in the roadway. Due to the size of the crowd and escalating tensions, mutual aid from surrounding agencies was requested to assist with crowd control.
Police say several individuals refused repeated orders to leave the area, resulting in the following arrests:

Nyel Matthews, 18, of Florence — charged with disorderly conduct after police say he refused to disperse and continued yelling profanities. He was released on a summons.
Two juveniles, ages 15 and 17 — charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction-related offenses after allegedly refusing to disperse and resisting officers. Both were released to their guardians.
Police say the original complainants suffered minor visible injuries consistent with the altercation but did not require hospitalization.
