West Orange police are investigating two separate vehicle thefts reported last week. A motorcycle stolen from a repair shop and a Jeep taken from a residence were both recovered in nearby towns, but authorities have not announced any arrests.
WEST ORANGE, NJ ā West Orange police are investigating two separate vehicle thefts reported in the township last week. Both vehicles were later recovered in other New Jersey communities, authorities said.
According to the West Orange Police Department, the first theft occurred on September 18, when a motorcycle was reported stolen from an auto care business on Valley Road while it was undergoing repairs.
The motorcycle was located and recovered the following day in Edison.
A second theft was reported on September 20, when a resident of Smith Manor Boulevard reported that their Jeep Cherokee had been stolen from their residence.
Police said the Jeep was recovered a short time later in Belleville.
Authorities did not immediately provide additional information regarding possible suspects or whether anyone had been arrested in connection with either theft.
šØ Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles, remove valuables and avoid leaving keys or key fobs inside unattended vehicles. Police also encourage residents to report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
