🚔 SERIAL SHED BURGLAR ARRESTED FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION IN GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 60-year-old Sicklerville man has been arrested after Gloucester Township Police say an investigation into a shed burglary led detectives to evidence connecting him to multiple reported burglaries.

Police said the investigation began shortly after 12:22 a.m. on July 21, 2026, when officers responded to the unit block of Vance Avenue in Sicklerville for a report of a suspect actively breaking into a resident’s shed.

As officers arrived, they observed a white Chevrolet Equinox leaving the area. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver allegedly refused to comply and continued fleeing.

Officers identified the driver as Darryl Hill, 60, of Sicklerville. Police later responded to Hill’s residence, where they observed him exit the Equinox and allegedly flee on foot.

Hill was apprehended and taken into custody without further incident. The Chevrolet Equinox was impounded while detectives sought a search warrant.

🔎 SEARCH UNCOVERS EVIDENCE FROM OTHER BURGLARIES

Detectives subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant on the vehicle. According to police, investigators recovered evidence believed to be associated with other reported burglaries.

One of those investigations dates back to December 2025, when officers responded to the unit block of Bainbridge Court after a resident reported an unknown vehicle parked in their driveway.

During that investigation, officers discovered outdoor power equipment and bolt cutters staged in a wooded area behind the residence. A shed belonging to the original caller had also been forcibly pried open.

Further investigation determined that the outdoor power equipment belonged to another Bainbridge Court resident and had been taken from a shed in that resident’s backyard. The equipment was later returned to its owner.

⚖️ CHARGES FILED

As a result of the investigation, Hill was charged with:

🔹 Three counts of Burglary 🔹 Two counts of Theft 🔹 One count of Eluding 🔹 One count of Resisting Arrest 🔹 One count of Criminal Mischief

Hill was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.

The charges are accusations, and Hill is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
