🚨 Old Bridge Man Pleads Guilty to Producing and Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A 39-year-old Old Bridge man has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges involving the production and possession of child sexual abuse material following an FBI investigation into his online interactions with underage girls.

Federal prosecutors said Daniel Berwick, 39, pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Trenton to two counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Authorities allege Berwick used Snapchat while posing as a 17-year-old New Jersey boy and targeted two teenage girls, one from Texas and another from California.

According to federal prosecutors, Berwick began communicating with the Texas victim when she was 14. Investigators allege he obtained sexually explicit images and videos from her and later threatened to distribute them to her family and teachers.

Prosecutors said the victim ultimately reported the conduct to Snapchat, prompting an FBI investigation.

Authorities allege Berwick later communicated with a 16-year-old California girl and provided her money through Venmo in exchange for sexually explicit images and videos.

💻 FBI Search Leads to Evidence

FBI agents executed a search warrant at Berwick’s Old Bridge residence on January 21, 2026, seizing electronic devices as part of the investigation.

Federal prosecutors said investigators subsequently discovered at least 1,000 illegal images involving minors on Berwick’s electronic devices.

Officials said the investigation uncovered evidence involving the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

Berwick now faces up to 20 years in federal prison. His sentencing is scheduled for December 21.
