🚨 NEW JERSEY PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR HAS MEDICAL LICENSE PERMANENTLY REVOKED AFTER OPIOID DISTRIBUTION CONVICTION

The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners has permanently revoked the medical license of a Gloucester County pain management physician following his federal conviction for unlawfully distributing controlled substances. Officials say Larry Pettis, a pain management specialist in Williamstown, has not practiced medicine in New Jersey since January 2025 after voluntarily surrendering his license while criminal proceedings continued. Pettis later pleaded guilty to unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. According to state officials, investigations found allegations that Pettis issued opioid and other controlled substance prescriptions without properly evaluating patients, pre-signed prescriptions for another individual to use, and altered or fabricated medical records related to patients receiving controlled medications. In addition to the permanent loss of his medical license, Pettis’ authority to prescribe controlled dangerous substances in New Jersey has also been permanently revoked. He is prohibited from practicing medicine, prescribing medications, providing patient care, or managing healthcare operations in the state. Officials say the action is part of ongoing efforts to protect patients and combat the opioid crisis. ⚠️ A conviction is a matter of public record.
