A Linden Police officer suffered serious injuries Wednesday morning after their motorcycle collided with a van during a funeral procession. Authorities closed a section of Roselle Street while the Union County Police Traffic Bureau investigates the crash.
LINDEN, NJ ā A Linden Police officer was seriously injured Wednesday morning after a marked police motorcycle collided with a Ford van during a funeral procession, authorities said.
The crash happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Roselle Street. According to police, the officer was traveling southbound on a department motorcycle when the collision occurred with a Ford van that was entering a private driveway.
š The officer was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the van was not injured.
š§ TRAFFIC ALERT: Roselle Street remains closed between Ziegler Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue while authorities investigate. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
The Union County Police Traffic Bureau is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
