🚨 JUVENILE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN MULTI-VEHICLE TURNPIKE CRASH IN BURLINGTON COUNTY
A juvenile passenger suffered serious injuries after a Honda struck a New Jersey State Police vehicle and a disabled SUV on the New Jersey Turnpike Saturday. A state trooper and the Honda’s driver were also hospitalized with minor injuries following the crash.
MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A juvenile suffered serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash involving a New Jersey State Police vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. Saturday near milepost 50.6 on the southbound outer roadway in Mansfield Township, according to New Jersey State Police.
A preliminary investigation found that a Jeep SUV had become disabled on the Turnpike. An unmarked New Jersey State Police Ford Explorer was positioned behind the disabled vehicle with its emergency lights activated.
Police said a southbound Honda then struck the rear of the state police vehicle and the disabled Jeep.
🚑 A juvenile passenger in the Honda sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The Honda’s driver and a state trooper suffered minor injuries and were also transported to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
🔎 The crash remains under investigation by the New Jersey State Police. No additional details regarding the circumstances of the collision have been released.
