šØš JUVENILE PEDESTRIAN SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER BEING STRUCK ON ROUTE 22 IN BRIDGEWATER ššØ
A boy was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a pickup truck while running across Route 22 in Bridgewater. He was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment as police continue to investigate the crash.
š BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, NJ ā A juvenile male was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross US Highway 22 in Bridgewater Township.
According to the Bridgewater Township Police Department, officers responded at approximately 4:13 p.m. on September 8, 2026, for a reported crash involving a Ford F-250 pickup truck and a juvenile pedestrian on westbound Route 22 near Commons Way.
š The preliminary investigation determined that the Ford F-250 was traveling westbound in the left lane. Police said the juvenile ran south across the highway and entered directly into the truck's path approximately 100 feet west of the Commons Way exit ramp.
The juvenile was struck by the pickup truck and came to rest on the shoulder of westbound Route 22.
š Due to the seriousness of his injuries, the juvenile was transported by medical helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment.
Police say the crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Traffic Safety Bureau.
