Howell Township officials recently dedicated a street memorial to honor Sergeant First Class Sean William Acker, a local veteran and New Jersey State Police trooper. Acker passed away this year from injuries sustained while serving in the line of duty.
HOWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ — During yesterday’s Summer Concert at Soldier Memorial Park, the Howell Township community came together for a deeply meaningful street memorial dedication honoring Sgt. First Class Sean William Acker.
A Howell native, Acker was a U.S. Air Force veteran and dedicated 19 years of service to the New Jersey State Police. He passed away earlier this year at the age of 48 from complications related to an injury he sustained in the line of duty.

The dedication provided an opportunity for family, friends, township officials, fellow law enforcement members and community residents to honor Acker’s life, service and lasting impact on those around him.
On a beautiful summer evening, the Howell community stood together to remember a man who devoted much of his life to serving others. 🇺🇸👮♂️
