🚨 Hamilton Police Seek Public’s Help After Dead Dog Found Abandoned Along Roadside
Hamilton Township police are investigating after a large brown dog was found dead and abandoned near Second Avenue and Assunpink Creek. Authorities recovered evidence at the scene and are asking the public for help identifying whoever left the animal behind.
HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Hamilton Police Division is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person or people responsible for allegedly abandoning a deceased dog along a roadside near Second Avenue and Assunpink Creek.
According to police, a large brown dog believed to be a pit bull was discovered shortly after noon on August 10 near a guardrail. The dog was reportedly found without a collar or any identifying information.
Investigators said officers located several items at the scene that could potentially be evidence and may help determine who was responsible for abandoning the animal.
Hamilton Township Animal Control responded and took possession of the dog. Hamilton Police Humane Law Enforcement Officers are continuing the investigation in coordination with Hamilton Animal Control and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities are reviewing all available leads as they work to identify the individual or individuals involved.
