NEWARK, NJ ā A driver was killed Saturday night after a vehicle overturned along McCarter Highway in Newark, according to authorities.
The crash happened at approximately 9:11 p.m. near Exit 5 and Chester Avenue.
Newark Department of Public Safety officials said responding officers discovered an overturned vehicle at the scene. The driver had been ejected during the crash and was found trapped beneath the vehicle.
Emergency personnel attempted to assist, but the driver was pronounced dead at approximately 9:37 p.m.
