🏆 BLOOMFIELD HONORS TICE FAMILY & DANIEL BITECOLA III WITH 2026 COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS
Bloomfield officials honored the Tice family and Daniel Bitecola III with the 2026 Community Service Awards for their extensive volunteer work. The recipients were recognized during a September ceremony for their long-term dedication to local youth sports, charities, and township events.
📍 BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Township of Bloomfield has recognized two individuals and a family for their longstanding dedication to volunteerism, youth programs, civic organizations and the community.
👏 The Tice Family received the 2026 Bloomfield Service Award, presented by the Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Advisory Committee. The award honors a resident, organization or business that has demonstrated exceptional dedication to Bloomfield.
The Tice Family has spent years supporting Bloomfield youth athletics, local schools, faith-based organizations and community groups. They are also the founders of Santa Night, a neighborhood tradition celebrating its 15th year in 2026. 🎅🎄
What began as an idea from their daughter Emily when she was in second grade has grown into an annual event that brings local families together while collecting toys for the Bloomfield Police Youth Aid Division. Emily and her brother Kyle continue to participate in the tradition.
⭐ Daniel Bitecola III received the 2026 Outstanding Citizen Award from Mayor Jenny Mundell and the Bloomfield Township Council. The award recognizes a Bloomfield resident whose kindness, selflessness and service have made a lasting impact.
Bitecola has volunteered with numerous civic and charitable organizations, including the Board of Health, Emergency Medical Services, Bloomfield UNICO, Lions Club, Bloomfield Cruisers, Rotary Club and The United Way of Bloomfield.
He has also dedicated years to St. Thomas the Apostle Church and Bloomfield youth sports, while supporting Township events, Police and Fire Department initiatives, community cleanups and wellness programs. ❤️
Mayor Jenny Mundell praised both honorees for embodying the spirit of community service and helping make Bloomfield stronger.
The awards were presented during Bloomfield's rescheduled Independence Day Celebration on September 5 at Foley Field. 🇺🇸
